On Sunday, June 23, members had a pleasant, relaxing event sketching at the Wake Forest Seminary.  Here are some of the results.

Peggy lead a drawing exercise encouraging us to better appreciate and use negative space.  Some of the drawings are below:

Member Challenge #3: Instagram Challenge
Amy introduced the Instagram Challenge.  Between July 11 and August 7, Guildies are encouraged to work each day on an artsy project, snap a photo of your work (or work in progress), and post it to Instagram using the hashtag #CMMAG2019  The results (and the prizes!) will be announced at the August 8th meeting.

Upcoming Events
August 10th is the Watercolor Pouring Class with Ryan Fox. Class is full, but there is a waitlist in case of any cancellations.

Art of the Carolinas is November 14-17th.  Classes have been announced, so check out their website.  It is a highlight of our year!!!

Chavis Art Camp is August 19-23rd with classes 19-22 and the 23rd there will be an Art Show of the camper's work. Guild members will be assisting with art projects and acting as instructors for a class or two.

Member Playdates
CMMAG Members should mark their calendars for two playdates coming this fall.  The first is being hosted by Sharon DiGiulio of DiGiulio Studios in Raleigh on September 15.  Plans are still being finalized for what projects will be shared.
A second playdate on September 29 at Chavis will feature old book pages and how to incorporate them into your art.  Linda is organizing this event, and she will have more details in the coming month.

Meeting Demo
Peggy showed us how to use paper napkins to make tags.  She brought some examples from her extensive collection and let us those in attendance make their own versions.
