Show & Tell
Fran brought a card a friend shared after asking if anyone wanted to receive any art in the mail that “may have been exposed to her daughter’s butt.” Fran could not resist. The card had a Rorschach Test-esque painting on the front and inside included photos of the little girl covered in paint and making marks by rolling around on the papers.
Maria brought a few pieces she was working on. She had been playing with napkins and acrylics.
Announcements/Good News
- Kathy King is selling her art at the Academy Art Museum in Maryland.
- Alicia is participating in the Hale 8x8 exhibition in Apex.
- Jeanne Rhea painted the exterior of her house.
- Amy Roswick got a promotion at work.
Demo: Pointillism
Dawn Limpert, our newest member, shared her expertise on pointillism. Pointillism is a technique from the neo-impressionist movement developed by Georges Seurat after a study of light and color. She shared a piece of marker paper and lent the members Sharpie markers to try their hand at the art. She also brought examples of her works, which were amazing.
